Hosting a Happy Hour for Your Clients
Summer is a fun season to host events at your ultrasound boutique.
Pregnancy has a way of isolating a woman, and typical social events are never really pregnancy-friendly. Other than a baby shower, there isn’t much else that centers around socializing while pregnant.
While the heat can be hard on pregnant moms, your air conditioned boutique is the perfect location to host a gathering for local moms-to-be. Be one of the first ultrasound businesses to start organizing a “Picture Perfect Happy Hour.”
Grab your party decorations, a few coolers of ice, delicious mocktails, and have a few trays of appetizers catered. You can have name tags and fun games if you want to take the event a step farther - or have ready just in case - but it’s not necessary if the women are all pretty social.
What is an Ultrasound Happy Hour?
You can create the rules here, but consider hosting a once a month “Happy Hour" throught the summer (and into fall!). You can have moms register for the event to have a proper headcount, and to prepare for how long the event will run. Your happy hour can include half-priced ultrasounds and/or a free keepsake gift. You can create a happy hour specific ultrasound package, too!
The fun part of hosting this event is that it becomes a social hour for the moms waiting for their ultrasound. They get to enjoy a mocktail and munchies while meeting new friends. A raffle and game or two will ensure that the moms interact with one another! Who knows, they may find due date buddies or create new friendships that last long after giving birth!

Mocktails
While you can check out a few great mocktail recipes on our blog here, we absolutely love this one from Poofy Cheeks:
Sparkling Raspberry Mocktail
Ingredients
- 1 12 ounce frozen raspberry lemonade concentrate
- 3 cup cold water
- 1 cup frozen raspberries or fresh work too
- 1 bottle Sparkling Grape Juice
Instructions
-
In a small pitcher mix frozen lemonade concentrate and three cups of water.
-
For ice-cubes, sprinkle raspberries into an ice cube tray and then slowly pour the raspberry lemonade mix over them. Set the remaining drink mix aside until later.
-
When ready to serve, add ice cubes to each glass and pour about one tablespoon of the raspberry lemonade in the bottom of each glass.
- Top off the glass with sparkling grape juice and toast!
