Support Moms: Help Build Connections
Your boutique can provide mothers with more than an ultrasound during pregnancy. Your boutique may be able to provide those needed connections throughout a mother’s early parenthood journey. This support is as easy as hosting a birth group meetup every few months.
What is a birth group?
A birth group can be defined as a group of moms who all have babies within a certain timeframe. Online birth groups are generally based on due dates and are broken down by months, but you can host your gatherings quarterly.
If this seems a bit overwhelming, consider starting private social media pages for clients due around the same time. You can encourage moms to share, ask questions, and get together. It can be a great platform to share pregnancy and parenthood information. You will also be able to post your business giveaways, new products, and any events you will be attending. The beautiful thing about new moms is that they probably have pregnant friends who can become your clients!
Once you are comfortable hosting a mom gathering, have fun with it! Ask moms to share their ultrasound photo and baby photos with the group, swap birth stories, and laugh about all the things they weren’t expecting with motherhood. Order snacks, call it a potluck, or hold an afternoon tea party. Consider bringing in a lactation consultant, a baby sign language teacher, a CPR instructor, or a certified infant massage specialist! Let the moms ask questions, learn, and grow their confidence while making friends.
Your little get togethers may turn into lifelong friendships!
Not only are you supporting moms, but you are supporting your own business. This small investment of time and money will root your boutique as more than just ultrasounds – it will establish you as a place to shop local. You will stay on mothers’ minds and provide the welcoming environment they will want to frequent regularly.
