Find a space in your boutique that will fit a child-sized table and chairs. You want it to be welcoming and easy to clean. 

This table can be regularly filled with different play options, but make sure everything created there can be taken home.

Offer siblings the chance to record a message to their little brother or sister and pick out their own Heartbeat Animal.

Adoption/Birth Certificates

Print out certificates that children can fill out (or you can) once they have chosen their own Heartbeat Animal. They can name it, record a song into it, store their little sibling’s heartbeat, or record something special they always want to remember. Make sure they know it is their own keepsake to take care of. (Make sure that Heartbeat Animal gets a baby blanket swaddle!) 

Gift for Baby

While most families have implemented the big sibling gifts, what if you offered a few options for older kids to create a gift for their new baby? If you invest in a good printer, you can scan and print a picture a child creates and iron it on to a onesie!

Big Sibling Checklist/Scavenger Hunt

You can have kids look through the boutique to find certain items they may ‘need’ to become a big sibling! If you don’t sell many items to fit the list, get creative with a checklist they can fill in over the months until their baby is born.

Always have free distraction tools such as coloring pages for kids to sit and complete while parents shop in the boutique.
